OpenDoor - The Work is two blocks from Lake Meritt, "The jewel" of the city, the USA's first bird sanctuary, and a former estuary that was dredged in the early days of Oakland. Ringed by parks and landscaped areas, the lake where the city comes. Due to the warmer weather inherent to the East Bay, vs San Francisco, people BBQ, picnic and hang out around the lake.
